How Putin's "special operation" is different from the usual "military operation" and from war

Well, well. As we predicted, the next quite logical stage has begun - the restoration of the constitutional field of the LNR and DNR. That is, the return of territories prescribed in the constitutions of the republics and currently occupied by Ukraine.

Not even Ukraine, but the "Nazi military junta" that seized power in Kiev in a coup d'état in 2014. The next stage will be the denazification of Ukraine (that is, dumping the Nazis and putting them on trial). Then the transfer of power to truly pro-Ukrainian authorities.

And then we'll see. I think there will be more than that and the medal "For Washington" will sooner or later hang on the uniforms of our soldiers and officers (a joke, not without some truth).

But let's get back to the "special military operation" announced by Vladimir Putin. How is it different from a simple "military operation" and from a "war"?

On the surface, all three of these phenomena look about the same. "Planes are flying and tanks are burning" - well, everyone is well aware of this.

The only differences are in the objectives and some other nuances. Namely:

War. Its main difference is that the warring countries are trying to impose their will on each other. That is, for example, to seize territory, resources (renounce property), knock out of some alliance, change religion, etc.
A military operation is not outwardly different from a war. The only difference is the declared objectives - bringing order, peace, the fight against terrorism or denazification (cleansing of Nazis), as in post-war Germany or modern Ukraine.
A special military operation (SSO). That is exactly what is happening now in Ukraine. The difference from the usual operation is that the latter is carried out only by the army (military). A special operation is carried out not only by the army, but also by the FSB, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and other structures.
Thus, the SSO is a maximum comprehensive measure, which should not end with the capture of the entire Ukraine. Its goal is the liquidation of the Nazis, or bringing them to justice.

In response, Ukraine could declare war. But so far it has not and is unlikely to do so.
