Blog https://gfxcity.blogspot.com/ tells Ukraine. Russian paratroopers made a crazy landing near Kiev!
Hello, dear readers! Today since early morning there is an advance of Russian troops on the territory of Ukraine. The offensive began with artillery preparations that took place almost simultaneously in the Donbass, Crimea and Belgorod.
A link to the interactive map is attached at the bottom of the article
This was followed by strikes with Kalibr, Iskander, X-101 cruise and ballistic missiles and X-31 anti-radar missiles. The strikes destroyed a number of Ukrainian air defense positions, radar stations, ammunition depots, airbases and command posts. At the same time, it soon became clear that at least the air defense unit in Novaya Kakhovka had managed to partially survive. Before the Russian troops broke through from Crimea, cameras captured the movement of an S-300 launcher, a mobile radar, and a command vehicle in the vicinity of the Kakhovskaya HPP. Apparently, this is all that has survived from the air defense in the area.

Kharkiv and Sumy
This was followed by the first reports from Kharkiv, where the 92nd AFU mech-brigade had been fired upon by Smerchy, that Russian troops were standing at the entrance to Kharkiv. However, apparent "slackness" at the checkpoints that were located along the ring road led to their defeat and losses among our troops when Ukrainian units "jumped out" at them. They lost 2 MT-LBs, 2 Tiger armored vehicles and a T-80BVM tank, which managed to gather a bloody harvest in the form of 3 BTR-4s and a Kozak armored vehicle. However, the AFU, through several skirmishes, regained control of the ring road. Since then, the Russian Armed Forces have not attempted an active attack in the direction of Kharkiv, preferring to bypass the city on the flanks. Some information about serious artillery strikes against the AFU near Kharkiv did not begin to emerge until late afternoon.
In the Sumy Region and Chernihiv, the resistance was initially negligible. Then, footage emerged of an advanced column of BMP-1 and BMP-2 AFU vehicles, which were tracked down and almost completely destroyed. Shortly thereafter, Russian troops entered Akhtyrka and Sumy, where minor clashes with cadets and individual AFU units ensued and were fairly quickly defeated. Chernigov was also taken. However, a significant number of AFU mobile groups remain in the vicinity. This is the end of the news from the north of Ukraine for now.
An example of true heroism was demonstrated today by Russian paratroopers. A desperately brave, even insane breakthrough at super low altitude to Gostomel airport was supported by Ka-52, Mi-35 and Su-25 attack aircraft, during which the Ukrainian National Guard brigade located nearby was literally disrupted by large-scale fire. In spite of this, National Guard units armed with MANPADs managed to shoot down the Mi-8 and seriously damage the Ka-52, which made an emergency landing. However, the airport had been seized and the Russian paratroopers immediately formed a control zone for further redeployment of forces. They were even caught live on the American TV channel CNN.
The blog https://gfxcity.blogspot.com/ narrates The crisis was exacerbated by the unexpected engagement of Su-27 and MiG-29 fighters by the AFU, which at the same time appeared over Kiev, having managed to take off from the wrecked airbases. However, with a radar plane flying in the air, the A-50U, two Su-27s were shot down by retaliatory actions of the Russian Air Force. Nothing is known about the MiGs and it is quite possible that they managed to survive. In any case, our fighters have already been nicknamed "cosmodest" and I think their merits will be appreciated.
Kherson
The offensive from the Crimea was successful at first. After a powerful strike by Grads and SAU, helicopters came forward and successfully defeated the Ukrainian security forces obstructing the advance. The offensive was successful as far as Kherson, but there the first problems began. The AFU tank brigade deployed its armored vehicles right on the bridge over the Dnieper River, and the approaching Russian Armed Forces column had to turn around for a full-fledged battle. The battle on the outskirts of Kherson lasted for several hours, during which a large number of AFU tanks were destroyed, the Russian aviation and, presumably, two AFU Su-25s were active. As a result, towards evening, the Russian armed forces managed to cross the bridge and enter Kherson, after which the AFU retreated further towards Nikolayev.
Also at the time of writing, it became known that the Russian Armed Forces had entered Melitopol. This means that Mariupol gradually finds itself in a semi-cauldron. Given that DNR detachments are breaking through in the Volnovakha area, a detour of Mariupol and its encirclement by joint forces of Russia and the Republics is ripe.
All we can say so far is that there is no victorious war with low casualties. Our troops are advancing and winning in direct combat, but the AFU mobile units are actively attacking the rear columns. Already we can say that our troop losses are in the dozens. We have an equally difficult night ahead of us, in which, according to the day's reconnaissance, there will be repeated strikes with high-precision weapons. And tomorrow the AFU grouping near Mariupol will have much bigger problems.
The author and his comrades have made an interactive map of hostilities, on which we mark significant events as far as possible and leave links to confirmations.
